Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Nuclear Canada (CWNC) is seeking a Lead Business Development Specialist in Newmarket, ON to drive growth, uncover opportunities and lead major capture efforts. You will build strategic partnerships, shape proposals, and coordinate with teams to win high-value contracts.

The role requires 5–10 years in BD, strong leadership and negotiation skills, and the ability to travel up to 50%. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is expected.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5–10 years of business development experience in outside sales and managing proposals.
  • Extensive experience in business development, capture management or strategic sales.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-value capture efforts.
  • Strategic thinker with execution and results orientation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% (domestic/international).

  • Collaborates with technical, pricing and contracts teams to develop compelling proposals.
  • Analyzes industry trends, competitor activities, customer budgets and procurement forecasts to inform strategic decisions.
  • Provides recommendations to senior leadership on positioning, investment areas, and partnership strategies.
  • Translates insights into actionable strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives.
  • Contributes to long-term business development planning and pipeline forecasting.
  • Aligns business development plans with divisional and corporate growth objectives.

Lead Business Development Specialist

The Lead Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving growth initiatives, identifying and securing new business opportunities, and leading complex and large-scale proposal efforts. This role plays a critical part in growing strategic partnerships, advancing pipeline development, and supporting the capture of key programs.

Location: Newmarket, Canada

Salary: $105,500 to $125,000
