Job summary

AVI-SPL Canada Ltd. is seeking an Installation Technician 2 to perform installation tasks for contracted AV projects, including cable pulls, terminations, rack fabrication, and wiring.

You may lead installation crews on smaller projects, coordinating with the Project Manager to ensure on-time delivery within scope, budget, quality, and safety requirements. The role requires hands-on experience with AV systems, low-voltage cabling, and strong on-site communication.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interaction.
• Experience with audio-visual systems including projectors, displays, speakers and control systems.
• Proficient in installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling.
• Ability to lead site teams on small projects.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• 2–4 years of audiovisual installation experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation tasks and client training as per project scope.
• Demonstrate site leadership and oversee Level 1 Technicians.
• Read and interpret project schematics and blueprints.
• Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors.
• Test point-to-point cabling and system functionality.
• Track and secure all tools and equipment on site.
• Coordinate with Project Manager on status and changes.
• Travel to various job sites as required.
• Support other trades and adapt to evolving priorities.
