Work Arrangement:

This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Your role

The Lead Analyst will oversee analyses of qualitative and quantitative research to support audience growth for CBC English Services Entertainment, Factual, and Sports, and leverage these findings for monetization in Media Solutions. The candidate will lead and support a team of research analysts.

This role requires proficiency in both linear television and digital audience measurement, with extensive experience in reporting key performance metrics and providing actionable insights.

The Lead Analyst will evaluate research needs, recommend approaches and tools, and assess information requirements for decisions related to competitive landscape, audience targeting, programming, revenue strategies, advertising data, content performance, scheduling, promotional campaigns, and strategic planning.

You will work with Senior Analysts and Analysts to delegate responsibilities, prepare regular reports, and handle ad hoc requests on various timelines.

Technical Skills Required
  • Advanced analytics with NLogic software (Instar TV) and Numeris metrics.
  • Understanding of VAM data and cross-platform data analysis.
  • Knowledge of digital metrics for content and revenue growth.
  • Experience with Comscore for online performance measurement.
  • Understanding of podcast analytics (Triton).
  • Knowledge of Consumer Panel Data (Vividata).
  • Utilization of Advertising Expenditure data sets (Vivvix, CBC internal).
  • Experience mining multi-platform data and generating insights.
  • Thorough understanding of media environment and technical aspects of audience measurement.
  • Knowledge of CBC programming and strategic objectives.
  • Data visualization and dashboard creation skills (Google Looker, Power BI).
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office tools.
Media Research Skills
  • Deep knowledge of current social science research methodologies applicable to media.
  • Experience mining multi-platform data and storytelling for stakeholders.
  • Understanding of CBC programming and related strategies.
  • Initiative and creativity in research problem-solving, methodology design, and data analysis.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting research insights.
Leadership Skills
  • Ability to respond to diverse stakeholders and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Experience training and supporting team members.
  • Leadership in achieving project deadlines and managing priorities.
  • Diplomatic handling of confidential and sensitive issues.
