Job summary

BWXT Canada Ltd. in Cambridge, ON, is seeking a skilled Layout professional to join our production team. You will perform layout work on various materials, read documentation, and verify drawings, with duties including pre-inspection checks and assisting Fitters as needed.

Ideal candidates have advanced blueprint reading skills, 5+ years of fitting experience in heavy manufacturing, and a proven ability to handle complex dimensional calculations. Multiple shifts available from days to weekends.

Hourly rate: $43.40 – Fully Qualified (starts at Learner 1: $36.89/hr; Learner 2: $39.06/hr; Learner 3: $41.23) Progression based on merit not hours.

We have opportunities for skilled Layout to join our production team at our facility in CAMBRIDGE, ON. Each member of our team plays a critical role in BWXT Canada’s success and in ensuring we meet our customers’ quality, cost and delivery expectations.

Primary Function

• To perform all types of layout work including development on all types of material.

Tasks

• Read and interpret documentation.


• Perform mathematical calculations.


• Verify and identify material to procedure.


• Ensures accuracy of drawings and may suggest revisions.


• Assists Fitters as required.


• Performs Fitter duties when not required on Layout.


• Performs dimensional checks on products and tools prior to final inspection.


• Works in a safe manner. Demonstrates good workmanship and practices.

• Must be available to work any of the following shifts:
  
  
  • Days: 6:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Mon – Thurs) OR;
  
  
  • Afternoons: 4:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. (Mon – Thurs) OR;
  
  
  • Weekend days: 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours).
