Our client, a well-established law firm in Quebec, seeks a lawyer with at least seven years of experience in commercial and construction litigation to join its team. The role offers ownership of files within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

You will manage diverse matters, advise clients, develop strategies, draft opinions and court documents, and represent clients before the courts. A hybrid work arrangement and opportunities for professional growth are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial and construction litigation.
• Barreau du Québec, member in good standing.
• Strong French language skills (written and spoken).
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and courtroom advocacy abilities.

Responsibilities

• Advise and represent clients in commercial disputes and construction-related litigation.
• Develop tailored legal strategies for each case.
• Draft opinions, demand letters, and court filings.
• Prepare examinations and represent clients before the courts.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a variety of commercial and construction litigation matters, including:

• Advising and representing clients in commercial disputes and construction-related litigation
• Developing legal strategies tailored to the specific issues of each case
• Drafting legal opinions, demand letters, and court proceedings
• Preparing and conducting examinations and representing clients before the courts
• Participating in negotiations and negotiating out-of-court settlements
• Independently managing files while maintaining strong client relationships
• Contributing to the growth of the practice and business development initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

• Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial and construction litigation
• Experience in professional liability litigation is considered an asset
• Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills
• Strong command of French, both written and spoken
• Ability to work independently, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset
• Interest in client development and business growth
