You will independently manage complex civil and commercial files, advise diverse clients, and represent them in court, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences. Ideal candidates hold a Barreau du Québec licence with at least 10 years of experience, possess strong drafting and advocacy skills, and demonstrate strategic thinking and client-relations expertise.

Job description

Our firm is seeking a Senior Civil and Commercial Litigation Lawyer to join our team. The selected candidate will manage complex cases, advise a diverse clientele, and represent clients before the courts.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage civil and commercial litigation files;
• Develop and execute strategic settlement and representation plans;
• Draft legal proceedings, legal opinions, formal notices (mises en demeure), and various legal documents;
• Represent clients before the courts, as well as in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences;
• Provide strategic advice to clients and ensure thorough file management;
• Collaborate with other professionals within the firm;
• Participate in mentoring and supervising junior lawyers and articling students, as needed.

Candidate Profile

• Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec;
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation;
• Excellent legal drafting and oral advocacy skills;
• Strong analytical mind, autonomy, and strategic thinking;
• Proven track record in business development and client relations;
• Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
