The Law Clerk at GCC is an adaptable, proactive individual eager to learn, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role is a 12-month parental leave cover. Under the direction of the General Counsel & Secretary to the Board, the Law Clerk’s primary responsibilities include :

Key Responsibilities

Support to Legal Team

  • Perform legal and administrative duties collaboratively with the Legal Team
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as letters, contracts, and amendments
  • Assist with preparing NDAs, funding agreements, and other legal documents
  • Manage approval and signature processes for legal documents
  • Review due diligence requests and escalate as necessary
  • Maintain Legal Team trackers and records

Governance Support

  • Coordinate logistics for Board activities, including meetings, travel, and accommodations
  • Organize governance events, draft and proofread materials, and prepare minutes
  • Maintain corporate records and assist with compliance under the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act
  • Support risk tracking and reporting

Qualifications

  • Legal assistant or law clerk diploma
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and exercise good judgment

Location & Work Requirements

  • Hybrid work model; residence near GTA preferred; travel to Toronto office may be required
  • International travel may be necessary
