Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a dedicated Laundry Worker III for casual work at the Kitimat General Hospital and Health Centre in Kitimat, BC. The role involves operating hospital laundry equipment and supervising a team of Laundry Workers, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to safety standards.

As a Casual position, you will support daily operations, coordinate assignments, and participate in training activities to maintain quality and efficiency in the hospital laundry service.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a small team or work area.
• Ability to plan and coordinate daily workloads.
• Willingness to train new staff and orient temps or new hires.
• Familiarity with safety and hygiene standards in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate non-domestic laundry equipment (washers/tunnel washers, extractors, dryers).
• Supervise designated Laundry Workers, including scheduling and assigning tasks.
• Identify training needs and coordinate orientation for staff.

We are currently looking for a hard working and dedicated Laundry Worker to fill a Casual position at the Kitimat General Hospital and Health Centre.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, and working within the scope of Regional Northern Health Policies and Processes, the Laundry Worker III operates non-domestic laundry equipment such as washers/tunnel washers, extractors, dryers, etc. and provides supervision to designated Laundry Workers by performing duties such as scheduling and coordinating work assignments, and determining related training and orientation requirements.
