Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority in Western Zone at South Shore Regional Hospital is seeking a Casual Relief Laundry Attendant (3%) for the FMS Laundry SSRH. You will help ensure safe, efficient operation and continuous processing of soiled and clean laundry, delivering reliable service to hospital departments.

The role requires Grade 12/GED, infection control knowledge, WHMS training, and French as an asset. Shifts include days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, with pay CAD 20.74–21.56

Qualifications

• Grade 12/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of Infection Control procedures.
• Completion of WHMS training.
• Good knowledge of Infection Control guidelines as they pertain to an industrial laundry operation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and efficient operation of department equipment.
• Carry out the continuous processing of soiled and clean laundry and linen products.
• Adhere to infection control standards and department policies.

About the Opportunity

To ensure the safe and efficient operation of the department equipment, in accordance with standards, regulations, and department policies; and to ensure the continuous processing of soiled and clean laundry and linen products in the department, so as to provide clean and safe products to be used by the laundry customers, in appropriate quantities; and to carry out the above functions in a professional manner, that achieves the mission, goals, and objectives of the Nova Scotia Health.

About You

• Grade 12/GED or equivalent work experience required
• Knowledge of Infection Control procedures
• Completion of WHMS training
• Good knowledge of Infection Control guidelines as they pertain to an industrial laundry operation
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
