Job summary

FVACFSS in Chilliwack, BC is seeking a Láts’ú:mexw Coordinator to strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities and support child and family services across Stó:lō territory and beyond. The role emphasizes cultural connection, registry building, and collaborative work with Elders and leadership.

The position is full-time, hybrid/remote, with a focus on building bridges and supporting families while upholding Indigenous rights and cultural identity.

Qualifications

• Passion for building relationships.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and appreciation of Indigenous culture and history.
• Understanding of family systems and child development.
• Ability to interpret relevant BC and Federal legislation.

Responsibilities

• Build knowledge of 140+ communities to support children and youth in care.
• Create an internal registry database of communities and children in care.
• Develop a workplan to connect staff with communities and build formal links.
• Assist staff with connections to ensure children learn about home communities and identity.
• Monitor activities and write reports for leadership.
