Express Employment Professionals in Beamsville, Ontario is seeking a CO2 Laser Programmer/Operator to join a manufacturing team. You will create and optimize CNC programs, set up and operate CO2 laser equipment, and interpret blueprints to maximize material usage and efficiency.

The role involves off-line programming and on-machine operation, with safety protocols and a day shift (7:30am–4:00pm) in a modern facility. Beamsville location, full-time/direct hire with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience operating and programming CO2 laser cutting machines, preferably in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, knowledge of G-code/M-code, and experience with nesting software.
• Strong understanding of machine functions and ability to perform minor repairs.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely in a metal fabrication setting.
• Familiarity with brands such as Bystonic.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (Bysoft).
• Set up and operate CO2 laser machines, including loading materials, selecting lenses, and adjusting gas and focus settings.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and cut lists.
• Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
• Perform routine maintenance on laser machinery and troubleshoot cutting issues such as edge quality, alignment, and machine faults.
• Maximize material usage (nesting) to reduce waste and optimize cutting speeds.
• Vendor management, handling requests, estimating materials, costs, job time, and ensuring maximum capacity of loads for the Laser Cutting Machines.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing protective gear, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring proper ventilation.

Express Employment Professionals is hiring for a respected Beamsville manufacturer who is expanding. We are seeking a CO2 Laser Programmer/Operator who is a skilled manufacturing team member responsible for creating, testing, and implementing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs to guide CO2 laser cutting machines. .

This is a full time, Direct Hire, permanent job, paying between $28-30/hr. The candidate will analyze blueprints, convert CAD drawings into machine code (G-code), and optimize cut paths to maximize material usage and efficiency. This role often involves both offline programming and on-machine operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, primarily working with metals.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 3+ years of experience operating and programming CO2 laser cutting machines, preferably in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, knowledge of G-code/M-code, and experience with nesting software.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of machine functions and ability to perform minor repairs.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (common requirement).
