Job summary

Elmer’s Manufacturing Ltd. is seeking a Laser Operator for our evening shift in Altona, MB, to support production of farm equipment. You will trouble-shoot cutting issues, replace miscut parts, and ensure high-quality parts leave the station on time.

The role requires reading drawings, operating laser and plasma cutting equipment, and maintaining a safe, clean work area. Forklift and crane licenses preferred; competitive salary, benefits, and profit-sharing are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with laser and plasma cutting equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Knowledge of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
• Forklift and crane license preferred.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot programming or cutting issues and submit change requests.
• Replace miscut or missing parts to ensure quality outputs.
• Assist in materials management and waste reduction.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and ensure production flow.
• Collaborate with team leads to meet deadlines.
• Assist with hands-on denesting and process improvements.
• Read drawings and operate laser/plasma equipment.
• Communicate respectfully with peers.

To meet the growing demand for our product we’re currently seeking a Laser Operator on our evening shift. Evening shift is 2:30PM-1:00AM Monday – Thursday with a $3.00/hr. evening shift premium. In this position you will form various production components and ensure quality work is maintained through every step.

Your responsibilities in this role will include:

• Troubleshooting programming or cutting issues and submit change requests as required.
• Replace miscut or missing parts to ensure quality parts are leaving the station.
• Assist in materials management and waste reduction including loading of Tru Store .
• Keep work area clean and ensure a safe work environment.
• Work closely with the Team lead and other team members to ensure production flow, clear communication and that deadlines are met.
• Assist with “hands on work” including denesting parts as needed.
• Make process improvement recommendations.
• Knowledge of materials and material properties.
• Understanding of operation and maintenance of Laser and Plasma cutting technology.
• Problem solving
• Able to communicate with peers respectfully
• Strong technical skills and ability to read drawings
• Forklift & Crane License
• Familiar with health and safety protocols
