Job summary

GTA Grounds Care Ltd in North York, ON is seeking a Landscaper to join a permanent, full-time team. Start date is as soon as possible. The role includes day and morning shifts, with 30–40 hours per week and a pay range of $20.00 to $40.00 CAD per hour.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of landscaping experience, a Landscape Gardener Trade Certification, and be able to work outdoors in various environments. A valid driver’s licence and own vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have Landscape Gardener Trade Certification.
• 3–5 years of experience in a related industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage landscaping projects from start to finish.
• Prepare proposals and estimate costs for jobs.
• Write detailed specifications for projects.
• Water and care for plants, lawns, and gardens.
• Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and other lawn products.
• Direct crews maintaining golf courses and landscapes.
• Inspect trees/shrubs for problems and diseases.
• Plan and coordinate growth and use of plants for landscaping.

• The candidate must manage landscaping projects.

Experience and specialization

Computer and technology knowledge

• The candidate must be familiar with AutoCAD.

Landscaping experience

• The candidate must have landscaping experience in residential projects, commercial and/or industrial construction, institutional construction, park and recreation sites, restoration and preservation projects, cemetery or crematorium, and sports fields.
• The candidate will be required to specialize in the construction of automated irrigation systems, fieldstone paths, interlocking brick, ornamental ponds, fountains and waterfalls, poured concrete, retaining walls, rock gardens, and stone garden walls.

Area of specialization

• The candidate must be skilled at both landscaping construction and plant identification and knowledge.
