Job summary

Crystal Edge Landscaping Inc, based in Calgary, AB, seeks a Landscaper who is self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills. The role is seasonal or part-time leading to full-time, with shifts including Day, Weekend, Overtime, Flexible Hours and Morning.

You will work on residential landscapes, plant care, irrigation, and hardscape projects in Calgary and surrounding areas. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of related experience, fluent English, and a drive to deliver quality outdoor spaces.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (required).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years experience preferred in landscaping or related field.
• Language skills: Mandarin, Vietnamese, Spanish, Korean, German, or Tagalog are assets.
• Client-focused with good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Write specifications and read blueprints.
• Water and care for plants, lawns, and gardens.
• Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products.
• Perform treatments such as pruning, spraying, and repairing damaged areas.
• Plan and construct landscaped environments and spaces.
• Plant and relocate trees; maintain private and public lawns and gardens.

• The candidate must write specifications.
• The candidate must read and interpret blueprints.
• The candidate must water and care for plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
• The candidate will be expected to apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products.
• The candidate will be expected to perform a variety of treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas, and injecting treatment solutions.
• The candidate must assess the health of lawns.
• The candidate must plan and coordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental purposes, and other uses.
• The candidate must plan and build landscaped environments that may include trees, shrubberies, lawns, fences, decks, patios, and other landscape structures.
• The candidate must plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens.
• The candidate will be expected to plant and relocate trees.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate of secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
• Fluency in Mandarin, Vietnamese, Spanish, Korean, German, and Tagalog is an asset.
• The candidate should be client focused.

Landscaping experience

• The candidate must be skilled in the construction of automated irrigation systems, fieldstone paths, interlocking brick, retaining walls, rock gardens, and stone garden walls.

Area of specialization

• The candidate must be knowledgeable about landscape design, landscape construction, horticultural consulting, and plant knowledge and identification.

Security and safety

• The candidate should be subjected to a thorough criminal background check as well as a driving record check (abstract).

Transportation/travel information

• The candidate must have their own vehicle.
• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

• The candidate should have an eye for details.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks on frequent basis.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate should be prepared to perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
