Job summary

UBC Facilities' Soft Landscape division is seeking a Landscape Technologist Apprentice to support the maintenance of all hard/soft outdoor surfaces on the Vancouver campus. The program is a four-year apprenticeship under CUPE 116 with progression through the Landscape Technologist 2 wage schedule.

The role involves horticultural tasks, design and construction, pruning, propagation, pesticide application, and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
• BC Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate required by end of apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hard and soft landscape areas across campus.
• Operate landscape equipment safely and perform minor maintenance.

• Supervise labourers and train apprentices as needed.
• Coordinate with supervisors on work orders and safety requirements.
