Job summary

Stantec Ottawa Office is seeking an experienced Landscape Technologist on a one-year contract to join our Ottawa team and assist on projects for private and government clients.

This role offers opportunities to contribute to parks, open spaces, and urban developments, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to turn concepts into buildable designs.

You will conduct site investigations, prepare preliminary design documents, assist with cost estimates, and produce construction drawings using CAD.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscape technology and site assessments.

• Strong collaboration with landscape architects.
• Proficiency with CAD software for design development.

Responsibilities

Stantec Ottawa Office is seeking an experienced Landscape Technologist on a one-year contract to join our Ottawa team and assist on projects. Our location in the National Capital Region provides many unique opportunities to work on projects of local and national significance for private and government clients. Your Key Responsibilities

You will work with general supervision and direction on a variety of projects, ranging in size from urban in-fill projects to parks and campus developments, as a team member of a larger project in collaboration with other professionals and experts.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Conduct site investigations and construction inspections.
• Perform on-site thorough quality control and compliance reviews of implemented areas against construction documents and provide inspection reports and notes.
• Prepare preliminary design documents including drawings and sketches for projects.
• Support the team of Landscape Architects in designing sites including but not limited to grading, layout, planting, and detailing.
• Assist with the coordination of design and specifications within the context of a multidisciplinary landscape design team.
• Produce construction drawings and plans using computer-aided drafting programs.
• Assist design team in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and construction take offs.
• Prepare presentation material for different levels of consultation.
