Job summary

CSW Landscape Architects Limited, based in Ottawa, is seeking an Intermediate Landscape Architect to design, manage projects, collaborate, and bring strong ideas to life across diverse urban and landscape environments in Eastern Canada.

You will work with experienced professionals from sketch through construction, taking ownership, engaging with clients and consultants, and helping shape Ottawa and Gatineau with impactful projects.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or master’s degree in landscape architecture or related design discipline.
• Min. 5 years of professional experience.
• OALA, AAPQ, or CSLA membership is a plus.
• Strong project management and ability to lead multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience with detailed design, tender documentation, and construction administration.
• Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop project concepts and design solutions across the full lifecycle.
• Lead detailed design and technical documentation.
• Prepare reports, presentations, graphics, and contract documents.
• Manage projects and coordinate clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Prepare compelling responses to RFPs and help win new work.
• Support construction administration and conduct site inspections.
• Mentor and guide junior team members.

What You’ll Do

You’ll play a key role across the full project lifecycle, including:

• Developing project concepts and design solutions.
• Leading detailed design and technical documentation.
• Preparing reports, presentations, graphics, and contract documents.
• Managing projects and coordinating clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Preparing compelling responses to RFPs and helping win new work.
• Supporting construction administration and conducting site inspections.
• Guiding and mentoring team members.
• Working closely with Senior Landscape Architects and experienced staff.
• Contributing ideas and leadership to the continued growth of CSW.

In other words: you won’t be stuck in one corner of a project. You’ll see your work through from start to finish.

What You Bring

You’re an intermediate landscape architect who combines design thinking with practical project delivery. You’ll bring:

• An undergraduate or master’s degree in landscape architecture, a related design discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Min. 5 years of professional experience.
• OALA, AAPQ, or CSLA membership.
• Strong project management.
• Experience working multidisciplinary projects.
• The ability to juggle multiple projects and competing deadlines.
• Experience with detailed design, tender documentation, and construction administration.
• Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
• A valid driver’s licence.

Experience with SketchUp, Lumion, or Revit is an asset. Canadian experience and particularly experience in the National Capital Region is also an asset. Bilingual English/French communication skills are a strong asset. Most importantly, you’re someone who enjoys designing, collaborating, solving problems, and seeing great work become real places.
