The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking a talented and motivated Landscape Contract Admin/Landscape Designer to join our Planning Landscape Architecture + Urban Design (PLAUD) studio in Edmonton, Alberta.

This opportunity involves working within a creative, supportive, and multi-disciplinary team on a wide variety of high-profile landscape architectural projects, including parks and open spaces, streetscapes, urban design, transportation, ecological design, and heritage preservation.

We are working on a diverse portfolio of projects across the province and frequently collaborate with our Calgary, Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria, and Winnipeg PLAUD teams to service Western Canada.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Facilitate Site Construction Administration, including cost estimating, contract document preparation, tendering, contract administration, inspections, and construction management.
  • Prepare base plans, conceptual designs, and construction drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in or lead landscape design work, including detail design services, planting designs, and layouts.
  • Create visualizations and graphics.
  • Support multidisciplinary projects within our Alberta offices, collaborating with civil engineering, planning, and transportation teams across multiple provinces.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Technical Diploma and/or Degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • 2-4+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in private consulting; experience in construction administration for landscape projects in Alberta is an asset.
  • Skills in AutoCAD, construction documentation, material selection, specifications, and cost estimation.
  • Understanding of project development, design, and contract proposal processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and other standard software.
  • Graphic production and 3D rendering skills, knowledge of SketchUp, Lumion, or 3DS Max are assets.
  • A valid driver’s license and vehicle for site meetings and inspections.
  • This role is based in Edmonton; remote work is not available due to in-person site responsibilities.
