Job description

Junior Landscape Architect – Public City (Edmonton Office)

Public City is seeking a Junior Landscape Architect to join our Edmonton studio. With 2–5 years of professional experience, the position requires strong technical skills, curiosity, and a commitment to public work. You will support the delivery of diverse landscape architecture projects, from early concepts through construction, focusing on contract documentation, consultant coordination, and construction administration.

We are a design practice of architects and landscape architects who work to support public life. Our portfolio includes small to medium-sized public commissions that engage complex social infrastructure: parks, streetscapes, cultural landscapes, and recreational and educational facilities. With studios in Winnipeg, Toronto, and Edmonton, we collaborate with visionary clients across Canada who care deeply about community and value the power of design.

Who You Are
You are detail-oriented and design-minded, with experience preparing technical drawing sets and managing consultant coordination. You are eligible for full professional registration (or already registered) with a CSLA component association and ready to grow within a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. You are eager to work on civic projects that advance equity, sustainability, and public wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture
  • 2–5 years of professional experience in a consulting or public-sector setting
  • Full member registered or eligible for registration with the AALA.
  • Experience in contract documentation, consultant coordination, and contract administration
  • Strong written, graphic, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; familiarity with Rhino, Enscape, Civil 3D, or Revit is an asset

What We Offer

  • A collaborative, design-forward studio culture
  • Opportunities to contribute to award-winning public projects
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Professional development and mentorship from senior staff
  • A growing Edmonton team connected to a national practice
