Job summary

The City of Niagara Falls is seeking a Landscape Architecture student to assist our Landscape Architects and Landscape Coordinator on Park, Streetscape and Natural Area projects. This 4-month placement offers hands-on exposure to municipal design processes and collaboration with engineers and planners.

You will produce conceptual and construction drawings, prepare reports and cost estimates, and participate in site visits and public engagements.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies or a recent graduate from a Landscape Architecture program.
• Ability to draw manually and use AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Strong drawing rendering skills and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the production of conceptual and construction drawings.
• Assist with reports, cost estimates, and construction specifications.
• Attend and document construction site visits, site meetings and site inspections.
• Assist with public engagement and public presentations.

This position will provide the successful applicant with exposure to municipal landscape architecture practice. Work will include hands-on experience with municipal design processes and the opportunity to contribute to real projects.
