Job description

GFL Environmental is actively seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our dedicated team in Camrose, AB.

This is a 6-month contract tentatively ending in late October 2025.

The ideal candidate will safely operate and/or have the ability to operate various equipment including forklift, bobcat, backhoe, track hoe, compactor, and/or steer equipment to bale, load, and move waste material.

Requirements:
  • Operate equipment such as excavator, forklift/bobcat, front-loader, baler, backhoe, track hoe, bull dozer, and compactor, with proper safety gear including safety shoes and eye protection.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate necessary equipment to bale and load waste material into trailers.
  • Perform daily inspection and maintenance checks of equipment.
  • Grease and lubricate equipment, check and add fluids daily.
  • Steer, guide, and operate equipment at the assigned site using steering wheel, shifters, levers, buttons, and pedals.
  • Clean trash from tracks of heavy equipment by pulling or cutting material away from tracks and gear mechanisms as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required or requested by management.
