A leading consulting firm in the Pacific Northwest is seeking a Land Surveyor to support their Geomatics team. The role involves field and office project support, requiring strong expertise in surveying practices and proficiency in technical instruments. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions in a remote work setting.
Join AZAD as a Land Surveyor and support the Geomatics team by providing office and field project support to field survey teams for a regional utility organization. This individual will provide research and preparation of field survey work packages, manage collected field data, and create survey deliverables for Realty, Engineering, Forestry, Mapping teams. This position will also create exhibits for the right-of-way and facility boundary retracement surveys, including right-of-way marking and support Realty with encroachment surveys.
This is a2 yearsplus consultant position with high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. This position is 100% remote but may require occasional onsite work due to workload and field support with up to 50% field travel with periodic overnight, throughout the service area of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, western Montana, northern Nevada, northern California and western Wyoming. This individual must work remotely based out of states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho or Montana.
The hourly pay rate range for this position (which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.57) is $41.22 - $44.57 depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.
The ideal candidate must have the following experience and qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or a closely-related field is preferred.
8 years of experience in Land Surveying is required.
Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of laws affecting land surveying and boundaries is required.
Professional Land Surveyor License is required, along with 1 year of experience performing licensed level work.
Knowledge of professional surveying practices and procedures; state and federal laws affecting land surveying and boundaries.
Proficiency with the operation and maintenance of Trimble total stations, GPS equipment, and electronic levels and other various measuring instruments.
Expertise with state plane coordinates, horizontal & vertical datums, network adjustments (least squares), and geodetic & GNSS surveying.
Proficiency with electronic data collection systems and processes.
Must be able to download and process data files, perform complex survey computations using various software packages (i.e., Trimble Business Center, OPUS, Bentley MicroStation & Inroads, NGS tools, ESRI ArcGIS, Microsoft Office).
