Wikwemikong Health Centre seeks a Land Based Healing Facilitator (casual) to address addictions and mental health through a culturally grounded approach in partnership with community programs and Knowledge Keepers. The role focuses on empowering individuals and families and coordinating programming across the community.
The facilitator will engage Aboriginal populations, apply motivational interviewing, and promote Indigenous cultural safety; ASIST/MHFA training is encouraged.
The Land Based Healing Facilitator will address addictions and mental health through an innovative approach in collaboration with various community programs as well as Natural Helpers/Knowledge Keepers. This will include and is not limited to a culturally appropriate community-based case management system which is inclusive of the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum Framework. The Land Based Healing Facilitator will be responsible for engaging the community in addressing Prescription Drug Abuse and Harm Reduction. This highly motivated and energetic facilitator will ensure effective collaboration meets the needs of the participants.
