Job summary

ATCO is seeking a Labourer to support a dedicated work group in Alberta. The role involves hands-on, physically demanding work in the gas utility sector, with a focus on safety and reliability.

This temporary position for approximately 12 months offers 40 hours per week at $28.48 per hour, plus 6% vacation pay. You will perform digging, site cleanup, and assist with gas line installation, repair, or maintenance while you gain hands-on field experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, CAEC, or equivalent.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license with clean abstract.
• Ability to complete pre-employment checks such as background check and alcohol and drug screening.
• Ability to work outdoors and handle physically active tasks.
• Experience as an apprentice gasfitter or work in trades is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labour duties such as digging, lifting, carrying materials, and site cleanup.
• Assist with construction, service, or maintenance activities related to natural gas systems.
• Support installation, repair, or replacement of gas lines, meters, and related equipment.
• Handle tools, materials, and equipment, including setup and basic maintenance.
• Respond to service-related work or emergency situations as required.

• Performing general labour duties such as digging, lifting, carrying materials, and site clean‑up
• Assisting with construction, service, or maintenance activities related to natural gas systems
• Supporting installation, repair, or replacement of gas lines, meters, and related equipment
• Handling tools, materials, and equipment, including setup and basic maintenance
• Responding to service‑related work or emergency situations as required

What You Bring

• High School Diploma, GED, CAEC, or equivalent
• Valid Alberta Class 5 drivers license with clean abstract
• Ability to complete pre‑employment conditions such as background check and alcohol and drug screening
• Ability to work outdoors and handle physically active tasks
• Experience as an apprentice gasfitter or work in trades, hydrovac, concrete, general labor, landscaping, construction, mechanical, or field service is an asset
