Job summary

ATCO Frontec seeks a Red Seal Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter B to join our Facilities Solutions team in Edmonton, AB. The role encompasses maintenance, modifications, and installation/dismantling of plumbing systems across service and construction projects.

The successful candidate must be willing to work after hours and weekends as required; tools, uniforms, and PPE are provided. Travel across Alberta and the North is required, with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance with codes.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Plumber Certification with Red Seal; minimum 5 years’ experience.
• Extensive commercial boiler, hydronic systems and service experience.
• Class 5 license with clean driving record.
• Must pass Drug & Alcohol, Fit to Work, background checks and obtain government security clearance.
• Strong communication skills; able to read drawings/blueprints.
• Willing to travel throughout Alberta and the North.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely inspections, testing, and reporting of equipment defects.
• Run drain, plumbing, and gas lines; install plumbing equipment.
• Install boilers, hydronic systems, hot-water tanks and furnaces.
• Lead on multiple commercial service contracts.
• Assist with scoping, estimating, planning, and executing new work.
• Ensure installations and maintenance meet code requirements; proper sizing and support.
• Collaborate with teams and maintain safety standards; drive project schedules.

Description:

ATCO Frontec is seeking Red Seal Journeyman Plumbers/Gasfitter B to join our ATCO Facilities Solutions team in Edmonton, AB.

The Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter is responsible for maintenance, modifications, and installation/dismantling of plumbing systems throughout our service and construction projects.

The successful candidate must be willing to work after hours and on weekends as required. Tools, uniforms, PPE are provided.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct timely inspections, testing, and accurate reporting of equipment defects and deficiencies
• Running drain lines, plumbing lines, and Gas lines as well as installation of all plumbing related equipment.
• Installation of Boilers, hydronic systems, hot-water tanks and furnaces.
• Be the lead on multiple commercial service contracts
• Contribute input for planned and scheduled work, and assist with completing the committed schedule
• Aid in scoping, estimating, planning, and executing new work or projects
• Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and graded
• Guarantee all installations, repairs, and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes.

Qualifications:

• Journeyman Plumber Certificate and Red Seal with a minimum of 5 years’ experience is required
• Extensive commercial experience with boilers, Hydronic systems and commercial service
• Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract is required
• Must be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test, Fit to Work test, and an extensive background check
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to read drawings and blueprints
• Ability to build and work in a team environment is crucial along with a strong commitment to personal and team safety
• Must be willing to travel throughout Alberta and North as required
