Job summary

EllisDon in Mississauga, Canada, invites applications for a versatile shop technician supporting servicing of construction and hoisting equipment. The role involves disassembly, lubrication, reassembly, and preparing trucks and materials for deliveries, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

You will unload trucks, stock inventory, track paperwork, and maintain a clean, organized shop and yard. Forklift and telehandler certifications are encouraged, and a valid G driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and equipment used in a construction or industrial shop.
  • Experience servicing equipment involving disassembly, lubrication, and reassembly is an asset.
  • Ability to manage inventory and associated paperwork accurately.
  • Have or be willing to acquire forklift certification and telehandler certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with servicing construction and hoisting equipment, including disassembly, lubrication, basic repairs, and reassembly as directed.
  • Prepare trucks and materials for deliveries using supplied pick lists and job documentation.
  • Unload incoming trucks and complete required receiving paperwork accurately.
  • Hand stack materials and components weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Assist with stocking, organizing, and maintaining inventory and material storage areas.
  • Support inventory tracking and paperwork management related to receiving, staging, and job preparation.
  • Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for scheduled hoist projects and site deliveries.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and yard, ensuring areas are free from hazards.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude; previous mechanical or shop experience is considered an asset.

The hourly rate for this role is $23.00-$27.00 CAD
