Job Description

Responsible for manual labour tasks, operating light and heavy-duty vehicles/equipment, and tools for roads maintenance and repair work. Equipment includes dump trucks, tractors, loaders, plow units, and various hand tools used for maintenance of roads, sidewalks, culverts, stormwater management, and snow removal.

Tasks include debris pickup, grass cutting, patching, catch basin repair, fencing, traffic control, and winter operations such as snow plowing and sanding. Responsibilities also include safety compliance, overtime, shift work, standby duties, and supporting team members to foster a safe and productive work environment.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus roads maintenance courses.
  • Experience in roads maintenance, operating various vehicles and tools, especially in winter control operations.
  • Knowledge of Minimum Maintenance Standards.
  • Operational skills with specific equipment is an asset.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and inspections.
  • Strong work habits, judgment, dependability, customer service skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must pass knowledge and road tests.
  • Valid Ontario DZ Driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Availability for overtime and standby duties.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
