Job summary

Fero International Inc. is seeking a Labourer to perform general labour and carpentry on modular building projects. You will ensure quality, efficiency and production targets by following building codes, best practices and Fero standards.

You will read blueprints, support trades, operate hand and power tools, and maintain safety and documentation in a dynamic construction environment. Training and growth opportunities are available, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Some knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment used in the trade.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Fieldwire and MS Office applications.
  • Awareness of construction industry trends and best practices.
  • Ability to work overtime and/or weekends if required.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in training programs and adhere to health and safety protocols.

Position Overview

As the labourer, you will be responsible for performing general labour and carpentry tasks while ensuring quality, efficiency and production objectives are achieved by following the appropriate building code regulations, best practices and Fero standards.

Key Accountabilities
  • Perform general carpentry and installation on modular buildings and other projects.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure efficiency in the build process.
  • Support various trades and/or subcontractors with daily tasks including flooring, drywall, insulation, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
  • Safely use various power tools including, but not limited to drills, saws, and pneumatic tools including, nail guns, staple guns and hand tools when required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
  • Identify and communicate production problems as they arise and take action to correct upon approval from the Supervisor or Production Manager.
  • Document and report on completed tasks, keeping accurate records of work performed.
  • Participate in both in-person and online training programs and consistently adhere to all health and safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Fero Code of Business Conduct.
  • May perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Qualifications
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Some knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment used in the trade
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • You have strong technical aptitude, with knowledge of Fieldwire, MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of construction industry trends and best practices.
  • Ability to work overtime and/or weekends if required.
Physical Requirements
  • Must stand for longperiods, with frequent lifting up to 50lbs
  • Able to work in all weather conditions including outdoors
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting, tight spaces and ladder use
  • Working at heights
  • Wearing PPE such as safety boots, safety vest, safety glasses and gloves.
