Job summary

Fero International Inc. is seeking an Equipment Operator to coordinate the movement of modular units and construction materials within the production plant and yard. You’ll ensure efficient material flow while maintaining safety standards and accurate records.

The role requires forklift certification with crane experience, basic data-entry skills, and readiness for overtime. Strong teamwork and adherence to the company code of conduct are essential.

Position Overview

As the Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the coordination and management of the flow of construction materials and modular units across the production plant and in the yard, ensuring efficiency and safety objectives are achieved.

Key Accountabilities
  • Plan and execute movement of modular units weighting from 2,000 lbs. to 100,000 lbs.
  • Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Accurate and complete record keeping as required by management.
  • Move and deliver the material requested by fabrication and production.
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products.
  • Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
  • Prepare goods for off-site shipment by identifying their location, then pulling, packing, and loading them.
  • Operate forklifts, cranes and other equipment to move materials.
  • Maintain working area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Maintain safe work environment by observing and following standards and procedures, complying with regulations and codes.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Fero Code of Business Conduct.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Forklift Operator with a minimum 1-year crane experience.
  • Basic reading and math for data entry.
  • Computer skills together with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work overtime and/or weekends if required.
Physical Requirements
  • Must stand for long periods, with frequent lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions including outdoors.
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting, tight spaces and ladder use.
  • Wearing PPE such as safety boots, safety vest, safety glasses and gloves.
