Job summary

Whitehorse General Hospital invites applications for a Laboratory Technologist in Laboratory Services. The role involves diagnostic testing, processing specimens, reporting results, and maintaining quality control to ensure accurate test outcomes.

The candidate must be a Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist in Canada with CSMLS good standing and a valid Class 5 driver’s license. Regular part-time position (0.7 FTE) with a competitive hourly rate and Yukon incentives.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical laboratory principles, theories, procedures, methods, techniques and practices.
• Ability to perform routine and special analysis/procedures including phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.
• Ability to maintain records and prepare comprehensive and concise reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic testing and reporting of samples.
• Perform daily processing, testing and reporting with quality control.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure test result integrity.
• Troubleshoot instruments and maintain instrument performance.
