Job summary

SGS is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician specializing in Energy Minerals for our Prince Rupert, BC lab. You will conduct tests and analyses on energy mineral samples, ensuring accuracy and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include sample prep, data recording, equipment maintenance, safety enforcement, and QC, with collaboration across geologists and engineers on research projects.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in energy or minerals.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of sample preparation and analysis techniques for energy minerals.
  • Excellent data collection, analysis, and reporting skills.
  • Thorough understanding of laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
  • Experience with mineral testing and characterization methods.
  • Proven ability to implement quality control and assurance measures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systems.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Laboratory Technician specializing in Energy Minerals to join our team in Prince Rupert, BC.   • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Laboratory safety certification (e.g., OSHA) preferred
Additional Information

Compensation:

  • Salary: $21 - $23 per hour / 40 hours per week.
  • 80% coverage Health, Dental and Vision
  • Paid time off
