Qualifications

Summary:

AGAT Laboratories is currently hiring for a Laboratory Technician Ato join our Mississaugafacility conducting food chemistry analyses. This position is the third level position into the laboratory. The successful candidate is given direction from the Laboratory Supervisor. The Laboratory Technician A is able to work independently on laboratory activities and is responsible for maintaining some of the instruments being used in the lab. Please note, prior experience working in Food Chemistry isrequiredfor this position.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform sample, reagent and calibration preparation as directed.
  • Calibrate, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and conduct routine maintenance on all assigned instruments.
  • Compile, verify and validate accurate data records.
  • Meet quality assurance and turnaround specifications;
  • Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Report results.
  • Other duties assigned.

What you bring to the table:

  • Technical Diploma or degree in Science required (Bachelor of Science).
  • 3+ years laboratory experience.
  • Able to operate, troubleshoot and maintain analytical instruments.
  • Knowledge of full laboratory processes.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.
  • Candidates with ICPMS, ICPOES, LCMS/MS, GCFIDknowledge/experience would be an asset.
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English both verbal and written.
  • Hand-Eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Mature work ethic, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
