Agropur is seeking a Contract Lab Technician to operate the laboratory efficiently and support production and logistics with process improvements. The role includes sampling, COA handling, and calibration to ensure compliance, with a focus on non-conformances and timely corrective actions.

The position is a one-year contract with night shifts (10 PM–6 AM) and starting pay of $35.21 per hour. Dairy experience is a plus, and bilingual knowledge may be required for Quebec roles.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Food Science, Microbiology, or Food Lab Technician.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Sampling and plating micro, evaluating retain samples and communicating non-conformances.
• Manage ATP and clean equipment swabs; coordinate with sanitation to address deficiencies.
• Manage and change product status for Holds and Releases.
• Review and file external COAs.
• Monitor finished product and ingredient micro sampling schedules daily.
• Monitor all micro test results to ensure compliance.
• Assist in investigation of complaints and formulate responses.
• Calibrate lab equipment to maintain compliance.
• Assist in reassessment of procedures.

Your Role In Achieving Results

The Contract Lab Technician position is responsible for efficient operation of the laboratory and providing assistance to other departments in the event of non-conformances. This role is essential to support the production and logistics departments with process improvement projects and acting as a resource when needed.

• Sampling and plating micro, evaluating retain samples and communicating non-conformances to the necessary people/departments
• Manage ATP and clean equipment swabs, working closely with the sanitation team to address potential deficiencies
• Manage and change product status for Holds and Releases
• Review and file external COAs
• Monitor and adhere to finished product and ingredient micro sampling schedule
• Monitor all micro test results daily to ensure compliance
• Assist in the investigation of complaints and formulation of responses from team
• Calibrate lab equipment to maintain compliance
• Assist in reassessment of procedures

• Dairy experience will be considered an asset
• Must be able to work well within a fast-paced production environment and possess the ability to detect trends and react to make immediate corrections.
• Must be an independent worker, capable of following direction and applying learned knowledge to different applications
• Strong proficiency with computer skills and capabilities
• Good attendance
• Must possess excellent communication skills both written and oral English
