A Day in the Life:

  • Perform laboratory tests on soils, aggregates, and concrete materials according to industry standards.
  • Participate in proficiency tests and ensure prompt, accurate reporting of results.
  • Maintain equipment calibration, perform maintenance, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Engage in quality audits, investigate, and report non-conformances.
  • Manage the shipping, receiving, logging, and disposal of samples.
  • Assist with ordering and restocking laboratory and field supplies.
  • Collaborate with staff, including field technicians, technologists, administrative, and professional personnel, as well as clients.

We'd Love to Hear from You If You Have...

  • At least 3 years of experience in laboratory testing of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, and concrete.
  • Knowledge of standardized testing procedures (ASTM, AASHTO, CSA), especially for aggregates and soils.
  • Post-secondary technical education in Civil Engineering/Technology or related field is preferred.
  • Experience with CCIL lab certification, equipment maintenance, calibration, and proficiency testing.
  • CCIL certification is an asset.
  • Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures, with a safety-conscious attitude.
