Job Description

  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Communicate and meet HSE objectives, conduct monthly audits, and manage safety meetings.
  • Behavior Based Safety (BBS): Deploy and utilize BBS programs daily, including Behavior Based Observations, Field Level Risk Assessments, and Near Miss recording.
  • Incident Management: Lead investigations and root cause analysis for unplanned events, and develop Lessons Learned with coordinators.
  • Operational Performance: Communicate and meet operational objectives, support coordinators and lab personnel, and identify and implement improvements.
  • Scheduling and Timesheets: Develop work schedules, review and approve timesheets, and coordinate external analysis.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Establish and maintain a preventive maintenance plan for lab equipment, and monitor performance and repairs.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with SGS quality systems (ISO), review key quality data, and develop corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion projects like 5S, Kaizens, and waste reduction, and ensure OGC Core audits are carried out.
  • Training and Compliance: Ensure training aligns with SGS and client best practices, support employees' personal development, and ensure work is performed according to SGS’s compliance requirements and Code of Integrity.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge in analytical chemistry; Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred.
  • 5+ years of management experience in the Oil, Gas, and Chemicals industry or related fields.
  • Willingness to travel once a quarter to a nearby lab; travel expenses will be reimbursed.
  • ISO experience preferred.
  • Union experience is required.
  • This position is on-site at the laboratory.
  • Salary Range: $45-$55 per hour.
