Alberta Precision Labs (APL) is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant I for the Patient Service Centre in Lethbridge. You will perform venipuncture, ECGs, specimen handling, processing and reporting in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Previous Phlebotomy experience and ECG Certification.
  • At least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience and ECG experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner.
  • Handle procurement, processing, and testing of specimens; dispatch results.

Alberta Precision Labs (APL) is looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to work in a fast-paced, public-facing Patient Service Centre (PSC). This individual will be required to follow lab processes and procedures, perform venipuncture, ECGs on registered outpatients and community patients Monitor wait times to ensure we are providing best service to our patients.As the public face of APL, the successful candidate will work independently and with others in a patient-oriented, team-focused workplace that strives to be positive and respectful. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
