As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Recent phlebotomy experience (within one year). Formal urinalysis training course required or current equivalent experience. Equivalency is defined as completion of a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) and/or Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologist (CLXT) program in Canada; completion of a Medical Lab Technician/Technologist program outside of Canada; and/or MLT or CLXT students who have completed their phlebotomy training/rotation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Competency with the EPIC Information System.
