The team at Capilano Patient Service Centre (PSC), is looking to add a highly engaged, enthusiastic, and outgoing Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team in this fast-paced, public-facing location. Here you will have the opportunity to work both independently and as a member of our team where you will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions, including phlebotomy, ECGs and monitoring wait times to ensure you are providing the best service to your patients.In this role you will be the first contact that patients have with the laboratory. This environment allows you the ability to adapt and work effectively under pressure, utilize time management skills, and prioritize tasks within this ever-changing environment.Your organization and communication skills will help you collaborate and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and other health care professionals.This position works rotating shift between 0600-1800 hours from Monday to Friday at Capilano, Tawa, Beaumont and Lakewood PSC and every third weekend from 0700-1530 hours at Tawa PSC. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous Phlebotomy experience and ECG certification.
Preferred Qualifications:At least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience.ECG experience.
