About The Role

On-site | Casual

The Laboratory Assistant - Workflow Operator (A2) will support the pulp storage function and work closely with the batching workflow team to assist the weighers in meeting daily output.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use Webview to locate, transport and update disposition of client samples by workorder or digestion run number;
  • Retrieving and staging boxes on carts for weighers;
  • Returning and scanning boxes into storage after weighing;
  • Support weighing tasks as required;
  • Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Other duties as assigned.

About You

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks;
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, high volume environment;
  • Basic computer skills in using software run applications required;
  • Good organizational skills;
  • Quality and detail orientated individual;
  • Able to work within a team environment;
  • Basic English communication skills required (verbal and written)

Required Qualifications

Physical Demands

  • Able to lift 50 lbs;
  • Manual dexterity to perform intricate and / or repetitive tasks;
  • Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required;
  • Ability to sit / stand for a full shift (up to 7.5Hrs);
  • Please note that ALS operates 24 / 7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends;

  • An estimated hourly pay of $19.78 CAD at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and / or training.
