About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory and Pilot Plant Team Lead. You will lead a high-performing, cohesive team of chemists and test engineers, reporting to our VP of Process Solutions. This position is directly supported by our highly skilled Pilot Project Manager, Director of Pilot Plant Design-Build, and Saltworks’ entire technical and leadership team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Day-to-day and administrative management of the pilot team.
  • Lead the recruitment, development, and retention of the chemists & pilot test engineers.
  • Develop professional, concise, and well-written test plans and pilot test reports.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and storage for recall.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects and company-wide initiatives.
  • Assist in the implementation of workflows and systems to optimize operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety & regulatory requirements.

You will be a great fit if you have :

  • A degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
  • 8–10 years of experience in laboratory management or pilot plant operations.
  • Strong leadership skills in managing people / teams.
  • A strong background in preparing technical proposals and reports.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and the ability to quickly learn new software (e.g., data management platforms).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
