Job summary

Southlake Health in Newmarket, ON, is seeking a Laboratory Technician (LT) to perform accessioning and processing of surgical, cytology, and flow cytometry specimens in line with SOPs.

The role involves equipment maintenance, quality control, training, and supporting a collaborative team in a hospital pathology laboratory. MLPAO or CSMLS certification required; hybrid work options apply; strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hospital pathology laboratory is preferred.
• Experience in accreditation processes is an asset.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform accessioning and processing of surgical, cytology, and flow cytometry specimens in accordance with SOPs.
• Empty and discard pathology specimens and waste at designated areas.
• Perform equipment maintenance and inventory activities.
