Job summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist provides inpatient assessment and therapeutic services to acute, rehab and complex care adult patients within the hospital setting at Southlake Health in Newmarket, Ontario.

Registration with CASLPO is required; clinical experience in acute inpatient care and Dysphagia assessment with VFSS/FEES are assets. This 18-month temporary contract offers a hybrid/onsite work environment and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Registration with CASLPO is required.
  • Clinical experience in acute inpatient care preferred.
  • Experience in dysphagia and communication disorders preferred; VFSS/FEES is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient assessment and therapeutic services to acute, rehab and complex care adult patients within the hospital setting.
  • Support dysphagia management and communication disorder interventions.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional team to ensure patient-centered care.

About the role:
The Speech-Language Pathologist provides inpatient assessment and therapeutic services to acute, rehab and complex care adult patients within the hospital setting.

What you bring:
  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  • Professional self-development in accordance with CASLPO regulations
  • Clinical experience in acute in-patient care preferred
  • Experience in assessment, treatment and management of dysphagia and communication disorders preferred
  • Experience in VFSS and FEES is an asset

This is a temporary 18 month contract position.
