Job summary

Weir Canada Inc. is seeking an experienced IT professional to join the Support Team (TIS) in Canada. You will support, troubleshoot, deploy, and improve a diverse set of technologies that enable business operations for local and remote users.

You will manage network infrastructure, Windows servers, and end-user devices, ensuring security, reliability, and performance across the organization. Fluency in English and French is required, along with a Canadian citizenship/security clearance path.

Qualifications

  • DEC/Certification/University degree in IT or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of IT infrastructure and network support experience.
  • Experience with AD, M365, Exchange, VMware, and virtualization.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex network/security issues.
  • Excellent English and French communication, independent and collaborative.

Responsibilities

  • Provide network infrastructure support for Microsoft Windows servers by updating, maintaining, and patching.
  • Provide support for Windows workstations (desktops and laptops) by updating, maintaining, and patching.
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot backups via HPE/Veeam and support disaster recovery.

If you meet the goals of the role, we want to hear from you.Key Responsibilities* Provide network infrastructure support for all Microsoft Windows production servers by updating, maintaining and patching.* Provide support for all Microsoft Windows workstations (desktops and laptops) by updating, maintaining and patching.* Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot data backups via a Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) / Veeam backup solution as well as ongoing disaster recovery support.* Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve outages, bottlenecks, vulnerabilities, and other operational issues.* Support core network and system services, including Cisco technologies, Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and security platforms.* Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, asset records, and technical procedures while ensuring compliance with security and operational best practices.* Coordinate life-cycling of all hardware on the network (i.e. servers, workstations, networking devices, security devices, etc.).* Provide support to end users.Must-haves:* DEC, Certification, or University Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.* Minimum 5 years of IT infrastructure and network support experience, including experience supporting enterprise network environments.* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and security issues.* Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange, VMware, virtualization platforms.* Experience with data backup and disaster recovery systems.* Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills in both English and French, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Mandatory Requirement: Canadian citizenship, with 10 or more years residing in Canada with no periods longer than six continuous months out of country, is absolutely necessary as part of the requirements to obtain a government security clearance to the minimum level of SecretNice-to-haves (desirable):* Working knowledge of Citrix environments and Citrix NetScaler ADC Gateway appliances.* Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, security best practices, and vulnerability management.* Experience supporting Cisco networking technologies, network protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPN, QoS), firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and web/email security solutions.* Can communicate equally well with senior leaders, engineers, technicians, and end users.Why join Weir?We live our values—we think safety first, do the right thing, respect each other, aim high and delight our customers.
