Job summary

The Weir Group in Montreal (LaSalle) seeks an IT Systems & Infrastructure Administrator to maintain a DND IT facility, support 50+ IT professionals, and ensure robust lab, test and production environments. Role emphasizes ITSM, security, and reliable operations in a fast-paced setting.

Primarily onsite with occasional hybrid work, you will implement configuration management, incident response, and change control while coordinating with enterprise vendors for hardware and services.

Qualifications

**Job Title: IT Systems & Infrastructure Administrator - NETE****Location:** **Montreal (LaSalle), QC****Work Arrangement: Primarily onsite, with the opportunity for occasional hybrid work**## **About the role**Join a high-impact team supporting IT professionals who develop cutting-edge systems for the Royal Canadian Navy. As a member of the Customer Service Desk Team within the Information and Communication Systems Section, you will help administer, manage and support complex lab, test and production environments at NETE in Montreal — the technical backbone of naval engineering innovation. ## **What we do at Weir**At Weir, we combine engineering expertise, innovation, and technology to solve complex challenges for customers around the world. You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future ## **What you’ll do**In this role, you will help maintain a Department of National Defence IT facility consisting of IT infrastructure and different networks and systems, support over 50 IT specialists and engineers nationwide conducting development and testing using that facility, and contribute to the application of critical processes like configuration management, incident response, and change control — all in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. Because the infrastructure and systems supported are used exclusively by NETE IT specialists, typically during normal business hours, there is no on-call requirement. There may exceptionally be a requirement to implement changes or address other work outside normal business hours to minimize impact on users. ## **What you’ll bring**We value what you can do—not just where you’ve been. If you meet the goals of the role, we want to hear from you.Must-haves: * **Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and enterprise IT infrastructure**, including a minimum of 7 years working with compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and security technologies.* **Knowledge of data center infrastructure and operations**, including structured cabling, power distribution and UPS systems, and Data Center Infrastructure Management solutions.* **Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Windows desktop, and Linux operating systems**, as well as IP networking, cyber security, and virtualization technologies.* **Knowledge of scripting and automation techniques** to support infrastructure deployment, management, monitoring, and operational activities.* **Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise IT hardware** from leading vendors such as Dell, HPE, Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, Riverbed, Raritan, Eaton, APC, and EMC. **Mandatory Requirement:****Canadian citizenship, with 10 or more years residing in Canada with no periods longer than six continuous months out of country, is absolutely necessary as part of the requirements to obtain a government security clearance to the minimum level of Secret**## **Why join Weir?** **We live our values**—we think safety first, do the right thing, respect each other, aim high and delight our customers.
