Contract Opportunity Available - No Visa Sponsorship options for this role. Hybrid Work: 2-3 days work from client office in Downtown Toronto OR Mississauga.

We are hiring a senior Kotlin Back-End Developer to develop distributed microservices supporting trade capture, lifecycle processing, and risk computation for the ABS Platform. This role involves collaboration with technology and business stakeholders in securitized products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop microservices in Kotlin using Spring Boot and reactive programming.
• Implement core trade booking, pricing, and lifecycle event workflows.
• Integrate with Kafka-based messaging systems and upstream/downstream APIs.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and test coverage of services.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and quants in a global environment.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Strong knowledge of capital markets and equities trading processes.
• 6+ years of back-end development experience, with expertise in Kotlin or Java.
• Experience with Spring Boot, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Prior exposure to Fixed Income, ABS, or structured finance systems is a strong advantage.
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, MQ) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Understanding of system design and distributed computing.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and CI/CD processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, set goals, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts in a multicultural team environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
