Knitting Machine Operator

Truro, NS

Shift time: 7:40 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday
(Term Contract Position until November 2025)

Are you a highly skilled mechanical professional with a solid track record of operating manufacturing production equipment? If so, we may have the ideal opportunity for you! We are looking to hire a Knitting Machine Operator to join our Stanfield’s team in the Knitting Department.

Position Summary

The primary responsibilities involve meeting production targets by operating Circular Knitting Machines efficiently. The incumbent will keep the Knitting Manager informed of the operational status and aim to reduce unplanned downtime to meet performance goals. The operator must adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety requirements as per company policy and legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Production

• Operate assigned Knitting Machines to produce high-quality results.
• Perform all operations with a safety-first mindset, recognizing hazards and preventing accidents.
• Meet production demands as assigned by management.
• Manage creeling machines to ensure continuous production.
• Perform press-offs as needed.

Collaboration and Quality Control

• Monitor machine performance and quality, reporting issues immediately.
• Follow all work procedures and processes consistently, such as Lot Changes.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.
• Perform job functions safely, complying with health and safety policies and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

• High school or college diploma, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in manufacturing and production settings.
• Ability to work under time constraints without direct supervision.
