Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a route-based Fire Safety Technician to service and upsell fire extinguishers, restaurant and suppression systems, and safety supplies. You will manage a route, service existing customers, pursue new accounts, and maintain compliance with current fire codes, while meeting deadlines and quotas.

Qualifications

• One year experience in servicing and sales of Fire Extinguishers.
• Direct sales experience is a plus.
• Positive attitude, self-motivated, strong organizational and good communication skills.
• Ability to work with hands and possess mechanical skills.
• Fire suppression business experience preferred but not required.
• Manage a route servicing existing and new customers for fire protection equipment.
• PC knowledge and understanding of building codes and regulations.
• Valid G driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willing to work evenings, early mornings, and other shifts as required.

• Control a route, service existing fire extinguisher and related systems, upsell as needed to maintain compliance.
• Sell new accounts on the route based on compliance criteria and paperwork submitted on time.
• Maintain weekly, monthly, and annual quotas as established by the Suppression Manager.
• Comply with all customer service obligations and company policies; perform other duties as assigned.

What you will do

Servicing and sales of Fire Extinguishers, Restaurant and Suppression Systems, Emergency Light & Exit Light, Safety Supplies.

How you will do it

The qualified candidate will control a route, servicing existing fire extinguisher, kitchen hood, e-light, and pre-engineered and possibly engineered gas system customers. Upsell products and services to customers as needed to help maintain compliance with current fire codes. Sell new accounts on the route based on the same compliance criteria. Complete all necessary paperwork as required and meet deadlines for submission to the district. Maintain weekly, monthly, and annual quotas as established by the Suppression Manager. Comply with all customer service obligations as set forth by the manager, as well as all company policies established by the company. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Suppression Manager.

What we look for

One year experience in servicing and sales of Fire Extinguishers.

Direct sales experience is a plus.

Positive attitude, self-motivated, strong organizational and good communication skills.

Have the ability to work with their hands and possess mechanical skills.

Some fire suppression business experience preferred but not necessary.

Have the ability to manage a route servicing existing and new customers for fire protection equipment and work on flexible hours when necessary.

Have PC knowledge and a good understanding of building codes and regulations.

Full G driver's license with a clean driving record.

Willing and able to work evenings, early mornings, and other shifts as required to meet business needs.

Must be able to successfully pass standard background checks.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE

$25.00 - $30.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
