Job summary

Autism Services in Canada is seeking a dedicated kitchen helper to support daily meal preparation and serve customers at counters or buffet tables. You will bring dishes, clean, sanitize, operate basic kitchen equipment, and help with take-out orders in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include food prep, portioning, wrapping items, stocking supplies, and maintaining sanitation standards. Prior experience and a Food Safety Certificate are preferred; room and board options are available

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a kitchen or food service role.
• Food Safety Certificate required.
• Ability to lift up to 23 kg and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable and punctual with good teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Bring clean dishes and set tables.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces and equipment.
• Operate dishwashers and wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
• Prepare, heat and finish simple food items.
• Serve customers at counters or buffet tables and take orders.
• Receive, unpack and store supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness in work areas and storage.
• Handle cleaning products safely.
• Sharpen kitchen knives.
• Pack take-out food and portion items.

Work setting

Tasks

• -Bring clean dishes, flatware and other items to serving areas and set tables
• -Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts and waste disposal units
• -Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware

• -Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas
• -Scour pots and pans
