Job summary

CBI Health in Truro seeks a Kinesiologist/Physiotherapist Assistant to support a multidisciplinary team in delivering exercise therapy and rehabilitation services. You will design therapeutic programs, assist with return-to-work planning, and help manage patient progress within a collaborative clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Bachelor of Kinesiology/OTA/PTA program.
• Have excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Are comfortable working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Have a focus on continuing to improve your skills.
• Be empathetic with an effective ability to build rapport with patients.
• Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and to facilitate our clients’ needs by exceeding their goals.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist in matters regarding; treatment, progression of treatment and management of the client.
• Design and implement a therapeutic exercise program to meet the identified client needs.
• Prepare progress and discharge reports delegated by the treating clinician.
• Assist the treating clinician with return to work planning.
• Ensure the gym area is presentable, organized and free of obvious safety hazards.
• Greets clients and shows them to a treatment room.
• Acts as a liaison between the client and physiotherapist.
• Performs specific modality treatment techniques as directed by the physiotherapist.
• Completes appropriate information on CBI Health forms as directed by the physiotherapist.
• Checks on clients during treatment to determine level of comfort.
• Communicates immediately with the physiotherapist if a problem arises regarding the client’s comfort or tolerance to the treatment technique being delivered by the PTA.
• Performs front desk/ reception and other administrative duties as requested by Facility Manager.
