Job summary

Job description

Locations: Coquitlam or Richmond, with required travel to North Vancouver, Vancouver, Abbotsford, and Surrey

Programs: Rehabilitation Services – WSBC, RTW, ICBC, and other services

Status: Full-time

Hours: Monday to Friday | 37.5 hours/week

Compensation: $26-32 per hour (Employee or Contractor)

Job Summary

As a Kinesiologist, you will collaborate with our team to assist clients in returning to work and enhancing their quality of life. Your role involves active rehabilitation programs, applying your knowledge of disability, rehabilitation, and psychosocial factors.

This position requires working across multiple locations and programs, including WSBC, RTW, and ICBC. Candidates must have access to a vehicle and enjoy working with diverse clients and settings.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Kinesiologist in a related setting, including at least 6 months in return-to-work rehabilitation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, or an equivalent field
  • Membership with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team and adapt to changing demands
  • Preferred: Experience with concussion management and psychosocial rehabilitation
  • Willingness to travel within the lower mainland
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support clients in exercise, stretching, and work simulation activities
  • Manage administrative duties related to program operations
  • Coordinate gym equipment maintenance with the Rehab Services Manager
  • Conduct on-site Job Site Visits and Return to Work planning
  • Develop and monitor Gradual Return to Work (GRTW) plans
  • Communicate with referral sources and schedule appointments
  • Participate in staff committees and special projects
  • Provide educational sessions to community and professional groups
  • Mentor Kinesiologists and supervise students
Assessment & Reporting
  • Review medical files and conduct client interviews to gather occupational and health information
  • Perform functional assessments to identify barriers to return-to-work
  • Document client progress through reports and weekly notes
Program Delivery
  • Orient clients to the facility and program
  • Develop and adjust rehabilitation plans collaboratively
  • Provide individualized assistance as needed
  • Ensure gym safety and supervise operations
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals for coordinated care
Education & Group Activities
  • Deliver educational sessions on posture, body mechanics, and exercise principles
  • Lead group classes focused on stretching, strengthening, and balance exercises
